My new project a 1990 Karakoram in purple haze arrived today :)

Anyway I have most of the parts for it but I aren't sure on the seatpost size?

Anyone got a definite size for me please?
 
That would make sense Mark as the only one I had to hand was a 26.8 and it only went in a couple of inches, cheers ;)
 
I have a GT 26.4 in my for sale thread - not sure which bike it came off. Was on a different make bike I got once, circa 92 so may be right size. :?:
 
Thats thrown me a bit now, tried a 26.4 I found in the shed last night but it had very slight play even when well inserted so I was going to order a 26.6.
Wondering if the 26.4 is slightly worn now :?
 
I know it's an old thread but in the interests of historical Fact:

The 1990 Purple Haze Karakoram seatpost is 26.4mm.

I know this as I'm trying to saw out a seized tube from this same bike.
Actually comes in at a consistent 26.37mm as measured on a Verynear (Vernier).
It's darn near 3.5mm thick too, I should have opted for caustic Soda, it's not easy.
