Greetings from Sussex!

I got into mountain biking in the early 90s and have recently got back in the saddle after a few years away. My dream bike was always a 91 Kona Lava Dome and after many years I finally managed to buy one (frame only) and am looking forward to building it up! :D

Hey guys,
I'v been road biking for the last 10 yrs or so and just got my 1994 Giant Bronco back and hope to have it back on the tracks in the next few weeks, just a few parts needed to get it road worthy. I am really looking forward to the renovation

Mick

Hi everyone,

Didn`t know anyone was still riding the old bikes until I was trying to source some parts for a `96 and `97 giant atx 990.
Been into mountainbikes since late `80`s xc and dh racing, not raced or ridden since big crash about 10 years ago.
Just started getting back out there again last year and riding local trails and some trail centres in wales and forest of dean.
Quite funny how my bike is now referred to as `retro`! (where did those years go?)
Still goes up and down even the bigger hills surprisingly well!
Also have a `99 kona stab dh which doesn`t get out much these days.(too small)
Really enjoying the buzz of riding again.
Though looking to get a more modern bike for the big descents.
Cheers!

Hi all,

Just found this site while looking for parts to restore/mod/convert my '91 Klein Rascal to a single speed. Also have a 93(?) Cannondale that my wife rides.

Pics tonight when I get home...

Great source/website!

- Rob

Found Retrobike whilst researching the purchase of a Pace RS200 F3. Loads of useful info and the For Sale Forum is a lot less painful than eBay. It's great to see the bike of the month, it's like jumping back 20 years to see the bikes I wished I could have afforded as a teenager. I wonder if anybody knows the average age of the Retrobike members/ contributors???

I've posted a hello in the Road section but thought I'd post in here as I have a couple of MTB's as well

I still have my Kona Cindercone that I purchased in 1993 and I'm in the process of getting back my 93-94 Cannondale Delta V1000 that has sat unused in my friends house for about 10 years. I will post pics when I get the Delta V back in my possession.

Hey guys, found Retrobike whilst searching for bits for my old Cannondale a while back, I've had the bike almost from new and it's now almost 20 years old, have not ridden a lot in the last few years due to kids being born but now looking to get back into it.

Ooooh, sorry, just spotted this thread.

My names Chopper. I'm just a normal bloke who likes a bit of torture.

I've been a keen MTBer since the late 80's and earn my living teaching MTB patrol skills to emergency services personnel.

Obviously, being an old duffer I've always got misty eyed for the old metal and have become interested in raising a few old bikes from the dead. Exotica would be nice, but I'm equally interested in more run-of- the-mill stuff that ride usually at least 90% as well for a fifth of the cost.

Cheers,

Chopper
