Hi Si here although known as phil pheasant for the last 25 years. Have been building/restoring bikes for the last 6 years. Into cycling in general, riding Lon Las (holyhead to Cardiff) in May with an old work colleague. Have around a dozen bikes, some stripped awaiting attention including a four wheeled one.
Heard about the site whilst trying to source info on a Sunn xchox gp that I acquired recently.

Found this site trying to get info on a 1997 Diamondback I picked out of the trash.

Now I'm looking to win BOTM sometime this year.

Lot's of polishing ahead.

Hi

Just started getting back into VTT/MTB after a long break so thought I'd join this forum to help me along the (right) way.
I'm still riding a Marin Palisades trail that I bought new in 97!
So I'm a slightly more mature rider(Ha-ha) and an SPD virgin BUT
Just got myself some shimano MT32 shoes and waiting for the M424 pedals/cleats to arrive.
Should be fun and hopefully I'll be able to get the thing off the ground now.

Hello :D i used to ride years ago, and have just started up again, but I've got loads of old stuff kicking around which I'm getting rid of, so I've joined to try and get an idea of values/do a bit of research etc.

Hi all
Used to ride LOADS in the early 90's. started with a Falcon Fat track, then on to a Carrera krakatoa, then a Saracen Kili Racer, next up a Dave Yates Diabolo, then a Hiatus of around 10 years, rekindled with a Cindercone, then a Specialized Rockhopper, then a Stumpjumper pro, now have an 09 S Works M5 HT. I found the site trying to show my mate a history of our bikes. Then I went and bought a cheap Hahanna........
.....I just want to relive the days of upside down thumbies and crossed cables under the down tube!

Google searched for info on GT STS and found this site. Best forum I've visited in a very long time.

Started riding in the late 1980's, keeping fit for MA training, then with the kids, then a bit more hard core, then....stopped.

Recently started doing a bit of riding on the road, to build up stamina for the summer.

Bikes: 1994 Zaskar LE; bulit up from bare frame (by me), with lots of Brit bits. Also, 1997 STS-2, ordered to my spec, so never factory standard. Not ridden enough, cos I REALLY like the Zaskar.

Love the price of retro stuff, except amber wall tyres. Fortunately, I already have a few in the garage

Found this place whilst trying to figure-out what to do with my '96 Zaskar via Google.

Rode 1995 - 2001/2 starting with a '95 Marin Bear Valley SE, changing the frame for a '96 Zaskar in '96 when a friend lost control of a BMX and shoulder-charged the Marin against/around a tree (an accident). The frame bent like a horse-shoe, my friend broke his arm in quite spectacular fashion.

Currently getting back into riding and starting to restore the Zaskar to something approaching its former glory.
