I need to get some original parts back on my clockwork. (you will see what I mean  )

The most pressing concern is replacing these horrid v brakes. I have attached a picture from my gallery to show you how sh@t they look.

I know that you could suggest a raft of changes for the bike as it is a bit of a mish-mash but my main question is what canti's should I find to replace the v's?

The clockwork is 93/94 and I do need the bike to stop when I pull the levers  however I don't need them to be bling or indeed expensive if at all possible.

XT Brake levers are ok just need canties for now oh, one last question, would I need a hanger for the front set?

Any advice would be more than welcome.

Is it true that canti's are more powerful anyway?
