Not that period correct (M21SL = 1994), but not an utter crime either. Judys would be a better choice, IMO.

Ah.... but didnt they do a year where they were still offering Mag21 Sls with the Judy range?

yep , in the 96 "frisky" one , mag 21 , quadra 21r and quadra 5

The MTB Katalogue website says 1993 - 96. I only know because i'm trying to service a couple of pairs! :wink:

Although they were still for sale, what kind of person would have bought one rather than a Judy?

Put it another way, on the same basis it would be period correct to put an Indy on a 98 Explosif. But who would do it?

I go at it the other way round - the 93 Equipe that I hope to use for the RB ride on Saturday has a 96 Judy SL on it. OK, I know that isn't period correct and you wouldn't do it, but I don't care about period correctness - I'm just saying that is the kind of thing that the owner of a 93 Equipe might well have done in 1996, so it still has some authenticity. Even though I didn't buy the bike and fit that fork until 2003.

judy has to be the number 1 choice for 1996/1997

they were all the rage, everyone trying to make things in "judy yellow" etc
