As the site is awash with Ultimates and Yeti spods - can anyone shed light on this 3D 'Ultimate'.... year, number made, ever seen one etc...

Also - can anyone definitively say - who made the first e-stay (and when)?? How come no-one copyrighted the design??

Chris recently took some orders for Ultimate replicas, as well as Accutrax replicas. He still does them I think.

I have the impression that Richard Cunnigham of Mantis Bikes was pretty influential on introducing e-stays early on...cannot think of specific model names right now.

Hi,

R. Cunningham was editor for MBA in the 80s. They together with Yeti developed the Ultimate. There is an extensive covering on the project in several issues. Legendary.

Is that the link you mean?

Are there scans of the 'MBA build an Ultimate' issues on here by any chance?

If not, we'll have to get SeeKay onto it...

I know they are present on MTBR VRC. A guy 2ManyPlaces scanned a lot 2yr ago. Unfortunanely he didn't manage downsizing filesize very well, so scanquality is not so well. You will have difficulties in reading them.

I think it is absolutely a great idea to have them here & in our Gallery 2. Unfortunately I do not have the particular issues.
