Hi,
I will at some point be looking for an original Manitou 1 fork for a project bike. I've just been offerered some original Manitou 1's but they need a lot of work - is it worth buying, i.e can these parts be had?

1) The elastomers are missing.
2) The O-ring on outer legs are damaged,
3) Brake Booster missing (currently fitted with incorrect carbon one)

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks very much :)
Can the steerer tubes be changed like on some other forks, i.e. I could buy some the 'wrong' size and make them 1 1/4" like I need...??

You should be able to.
I did that with some Pro-Circuit forks, which were identical in every aspect to Manitous, and then just got a metal shim so the steerer tube fitted snugly.

steerers are not interchangeable as such , but you can change the crown/steerer , i have a couple of 1 1/4 steerers here

think i have enough elastomer left for one set of mani 1 as well

so only the seals you need , and i think jonnyretro will have some of them soon

do you mean between sizes, 1 1/8" or 1 1/4"? The steerers are changeable on the split crown original Mani 1's.
