Hi all,

I have a steel framed Kona that I adore.

After a recent (very wet + muddy) ride on the Quantox I found that my rear brake (V brake) was a bit out of its depth!

This got me thinking ( ) has anyone on here had a disc mount brazed on? Any problems e.g. damage to frame, alignment etc?

Argos Cycles quote £50 for the work (excluding paint)

Thoughts please.

:D :D :D

argos are very good by all accounts - they're the official uk repair operator for a few manufacturers, including trek. from reading of someone having it done in the past by argos, they'll put a small brace on a steel kona's rear triangle to stop the noodly tubs flexing too much, and wont do the job without it if they think it's needed.

Good to hear - it was this that worried me! :D
