I think anodising depends on the quality and also type of aluminium.

yes - it can be done. My dad purple anodised my whole XT groupset back in the early 90's! The quality of the alloy is fine - just need to make sure it is very clean.

As for L/H Cooks. Who has one for me to strip?

the blue sample on their site is.... welll.... ooof.

will have to see how my finished build looks. if it needs more blue then i know how to roll.

I hate to play devils advocate, but how do I deliberately remove anodising??

I have some purple handlebars that I would like to be silver :D
