I'm currently runnig Specialized Turbo's 26x1"'s on my Kona Hahana "road" bike which I'm happy with , but used to run Continental Grand Prix's for my commute which were also very good, but a glass shard managed to end the life of one of them very prematurely, not sure any tyre would have survived it :-( the explosion was very impressive!!
running them at pretty high pressures (100psi) makes the bike feels /very/ fast compared to off road knobblies

I have Specialized Nimbus on my regular commuter and WTB Slickasaurus on my Bontrager for road duties, both are cheap but seem to be durable and I wouldn't hesitate to buy either again :D

Thanks all for the input. I think I'm going to give the "scary" Fatboys a try.
