This thread needs resurrected or at least a sticky!

I found this at the dump today. £5. Full Deore groupset.... 1989 Raleigh Appalachian. :D
100% original apart from the back tyre, although the seat is fubar.
I'm not sure what to do with it now though.... :?
Here it is just out of the van.

SWMBO just rolled her eyes up as per, and offered me a brew. 8)

That is epic and super duper rare in that size, only ever seen gates. Lucky you. Get it cleaned up and ride, the 531 lightweights ride really nicely.

Carl.

Our local tip told me they didn't sell to the public, but I found out through here that they had a snide arrangement with a local trader who was outing the stuff on ebay. They tried to sell a frame dumped by someone on here becuase it was cracked and FUBAR'd, so we had a chat and he reported them to the council and they have no arrangement anymore.

Not seen anything worth having since so have not asked again.

Carl.

Me Maybe, or at least that's happened to me at Bracknell tip. And yes don't see that going on anymore. The frame had a big crack and anyone who had brought it and built it up would have more than likely had an accident.

This Marin Team Issue was a tip find a couple of years ago. Still waiting to be rebuilt
