Mountain Bike meet car boot. 150 miles north. Mountain Bike meet Jez and the Guv'nor. Anodised garage. Go to bed dreaming of bright colours and what if's. Wake up. Ride new surroundings. Up and down country. Sweet singletrack. Fast+Smooth=SmilesX4. What little hardtails with flat stems were made for. Make that ti sing. Conversations about shovel monkeys over a petrol station lunch. Were those kids lynching someone and stringing them up? Or was it a rope swing? Strong climb back then downhill all the way. Good riding dynamic. Nice people. Turn a corner and surprise - home. Never in the field of human/ bike/ mud conflict, was so much cake, intended for so many, devoured by so few. Best ride of my life.
