Ultimate wreck rescue? What IS this GT?

Found a rather forlorn looking GT frame and forks out and about today at a scrap yard. Frame and forks are ok. Pretty sure forks are Project2 with oversize threaded headset. Frame has u brake mounts.

So what is it?

is the der hanger broken off ?

Didn't notice that. :-(
Too big for me anyway. I'll strip it down and check it over, hanger us def snapped off anyway and there are a couple of scrapes but it should polish up ok.

Well the rear mech is still on the bike, albeit loosely as the stiff orange chain is jammed in it and the chain is wrapped round the chainstay and chainrings. Proper mess.

I just hope it's straight.

Serial number visible? 6061 or 7005 stamped on the drop-out?

Couldn't see anything - where on the dropout would it be?

And how is the mech hanger fixable?
