Removing Judy XC lower legs...

Ok,

The old manuals I have for Judy XC shocks (94/95) state that to remove the lower legs, simply remove the two 6mm Allen bolts from the bottem of the fork legs and gently pull the lowers free from the upper stantions.

Done this probably 50 times in the past.

Now, I've got a set that are refusing to come apart. Tried lots of rust breaker/lubricant over night, lightly tapped the partially threaded allen bolts, pulled until I turned red in the face...any other suggestions?

Need to get these separated for paint and am getting a bit frustrated :x

SOS please!

cheers,

rody

Did the bolts 'break free' when you did this? otherwise go back and lightly tap with a bigger hammer.

I had same problem .

Only thing which worked for me was to put longer bolts and use a bigger hammer .

With original bolts there isnt much room to work with the hammer .

Got em off, took two nights of soaking with lube and a slightly more enthusiastic tapping with a persuader.

Stripped and ready for powder :D

thanks for the encouragement,

rody
