Hi all,

I have had a quite exciting day today, it's the first day of my holiday and I went to pick up an old Carradice bag for my MTB and the young student who was sellingthe bag offered me some other bits and pieces as well as an old bike he bought to fix up. I looked a mess, like it's been round the world, but as he only wanted £15.00 for it and I felt sorry for it and reckoned that I could breathe some new life in to it I took it too.

Got on the net when I got in to see what a 'Highpath' was and I ended up here and I'm starting to feel quite enthusiastic about what could be anice wee project for me.

So, I'm hooked and want to get this beauty back on and off the road.

It has a brass (I think) serial number plate. SN = 08501BMc and 'Highpath' on the frame but no other stickers or identification.

Any advice is welcome, especially about original running gear, components, parts etc

cheers,

Pete

I'm not sure what its worth but £15 is def. a bargain!

I've never seen one on ebay but I would imagine there'll be more than a couple of bidders willing to pay £400 or £500 maybe even more.

Looks like its got quite a few of its original bits too.

Crikey......I'd better bring it inside as I live in Leith!

Thanks for the replies folks, I'm looking forward to getting the spanners on it.

Fifteen quid!

Turn the heating down (it's summer , even in Scotland!) and eat cold beans for a bit, that's probably the best £15 you'll spend in quite some time!

Here's a couple of bits of advice:

Take a good side on photo so we can all have a proper look at it.

Don't jump in with both feet and sand frame down, chuck bits away etc! I expect a lot of it is custom made, original, specific to the bike and very rare.

I'm sure some of the Highpath experts will be a long to offer advice on the right bits to get for it.

Enjoy!
