..........do you have any suggestions, i kind off given up on my kilauea, shall i buy new/or build what i have /or try a new retro bike??????????

any advice would be gratefully recieved....???????? anybody???????

im not sure really, it is only a decision you can make, remember you are on a retro site though...lol. :D but seriously, i think either buy another retro bike, sumthing perhaps you longed for back in the day, or ( if your frame is free from dents and damage,) buy the parts and go for it with what you have???? there seems a mix of opinion on the site over which is the best way to go, refinish or not? perhaps its more about what inspires you....to wanna go out and ride........as long as it does that .....its all good. 8)

Cheers Sinnerman.... Liking your work too 8)
I'm not sure the 88 Exlosif felt quite as good a ride as the 89 though.... I've heard this said before and having rode both I'd agree with it....
I love the pistachio paint on the 88 but I'd love an 89 too.....
Liking this thread..... Keep it up....
Oh, and someone sell me an 88 Fire Mountain so I can complete the set!!!! :)

few more pics:

interesting, i notice on yours, it has a very interesting clue, to the topic of this thread......you have a sticker on your frame that says made in japan......?????????

I can't vouch for the authenticity of that sticker - but I think that a fair few bikes were design in north america and manufactured in Japan - some very good welding tech out there.

Loving your re-furb thread - great job - must admit when I first saw your bikes I though they were NOS or very well looked after!

Awesome work shop too - is that yours?!

Where did you get the decals from?

Thanks for the info on the 'noodle' all makes sense now!![/quot

the refurb im convinced was needed, too much surface rust for me, the workshop is mine and a nice size too, which is a great advantage.

the stickers proved a bit of a nightmare for me really, and very good friend of mine sat down with me and after hours of tweaking we got them 100% spot on, i tried all avenues to get replacements, but came up blank, since i have had a pm sent to me, letting me know of a guy called gil, that does decals, unsure if he has these on file, i kept finding i could find later ones but not the original tbg kona set.

if you need a set and gil cant do them let me know id only be too happy to help.... 8)
