i know there are rules about outing auctions, but guys these are such awesome deals for rare bikes that i'd hate for you to miss out.

http://cgi.ebay.com/BONTRAGER-PRIVATEER ... dZViewItem

Yes, that's a REAL privateer and for only $800! funny there's a shop in Chicago with a NOS Race frame for almost half this money...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ti-Chance-Ti-Fat-ch ... dZViewItem

i think the surface rust on this one really adds value and as for what looks like the world's second scariest titatium repair at the BB...wow all this for only US$2000!

what are these people thinking?

The Fat Ti seller is a tool anyways.. I [along with most of the Ebay biking community] emailed him when he was selling some forks and he said he wanted US$5K for the frame..

Alert!!! this bike is for sale in the local news paper. so be advised it might sell before the ebay sell ends.

Great, so this auction isn't even a dead set auction..

The guy is a joke. 2k for a tifat with a repaired crack in the BB shell? The way the bike looks makes you wonder how good the rest is. That BOI is pretty f'd up too.

Devils advocate here :) Do you not think that in some ways, sites like this one are responsible for the increased prices people expect for old bike gear? Discuss.

I've noticed bargains are really hard to come by now on Ebay - best bet is either on here from fellow forumers or STW...

2 years ago on Ebay there was loads of cheap retro stuff.

no idea if we are to blame... surely we put as much up there on Ebay to sell as buy so if that's the case we'd be driving prices down by flooding the market to a degree?
