Chris Chance could have chosen the name Fat City because he started to make bikes with fat tires. But.... could it be he listened to punk in 1982 and somehow obtained this EP with a familiar looking logo that inspired him?

from the internet:
Descendents - Fat EP 1981

The Fat EP was Milo Aukerman’s first apperance with the band…what a great addition. very cool image this band created all around their singer the nerdy Milo…the LP’s even had titles chronicaling his life. I still think he should've been a saturday morning cartoon.

Tracklisting:
my dad sucks
mr bass
i like food
hey hey
weinerschnitzel

Don't forget Fat Mike from NoFX.

Maybe there is something in this, Yo Eddy has a punk thing about him and the colours are certainly punk.

I have worked as a roadie since 1968 for a band called The Sons of Champlin.

In 1967 the band released a single called "Sing Me a Rainbow," and the B-side was entitled "Fat City."

The 1966 album was recently released on CD, under the name "Fat City."
