"Steed" is bad ... but "stead" is infinitely worse.

Mine are called The Road Bike, The Marin or The Scott.

One occasion is where my front mech failed me whilst grovelling up a hill ... temporarily re-christened within the phrase 'come on, you f**king pile of dogs**t!'

Things like Rig and Steed are all a bit too 'Yoo-Ess-Ay' for me. :?

I'm terrible for doing this too 'using the salsa/kona etc' I'm not sure why either as a guy from work always used to say 'my subaru' this and 'the subaru' that and it sounded pretty lame.

I call mine...

Genesis; the "going along-er"
Raleigh; the "going up-er"
DMR; the "going down-er"

HTH!

Rig is indeed lame.

There was a time when i started to call my bike Claudia. I even had a sticker with that name on the bike. During an eight hour spin the chain on that bike had burst three times. After that a friend said to me the bike was as touchy as my girlfriend. Can you guess what her name was?
Not really that funny but puberty was in full effect at that time.

Agree . Maybe we should set fire to the people who refer to anything except the ropes on a boat as " rig " .

I reserve a certain kind of hatred to people who say " push bike " they are always people with twist wrist bikes who seem to think that the first bike came with a motor
