Some of the early Series Breezers have it. I love the look on a fine fillet brazed frame. Anybody had this done to a full bike frame and forks and can show us some pics ? Who would you recommend in the UK ?

Not sure if it was on here or Facebook but someone got their Orange P7 re-done in the last year so it's certainly possible and not ridiculously expensive (I guess?).

Probably the best way is Dalic nickel plating - it's plated first with copper, which provides an inert layer which stops corrosion of the underlying steel. I have no idea of cost.

Interesting, think I remember the chrome P7 of yore. I will try to hunt that on FB but it prob scrolled out.

This sounds like what I am after as im looking to recreate the early Breezer finish.

Most chrome plate specialists should be able to offer bright nickel, as its under the chrome.

It just needs a bit of a polish after.....it won't be cheap as most of the work is in the frame prep, plating is just putting it in the tank.

I get my motorcycle bits done at rschrome, mark is helpful and knows his stuff.

I will try your tip. I called 1/2 a dozen or so who said they offered the service for motorcycles and for car brightwork restoration but they all said they wont do bicycles. I even tried one who do re-chroming of Chopper bicycle parts but they would not try a full bike. :facepalm: I am sure there are good ones who will do it, I just need that heads up.

Just a thought, did you specify its a steel frame? As modern bikes are mostly alloy and that can be a nightmare to chrome ( so im told). It might help sway them.

One company, years ago, did " slightly dissolve " a set of carb lifters for me. So it can be tricky.

Its 100% old classic fillet brazed steel. I was surprised to be honest.,I know there are lots of regs about chroming etc. They have no issues re-chroming stuff for cars, motorcycles etc. Maybe they need to know the surfaces are already prepped to a very high standard to begin with, I dunno. I know its not cheap but happy to pay for a top class job. :D
