26" Forks.

Morning guys,

New member here.

Recently got back into cycling having stripped and sold my Cube frame and bought a used Cotic Soul Mk3 frame.

Loving the bike but it really needs longer forks. It currently has some OEM Manitou Minute ltd forks on it which are a bit short really.

I could do with a set of 140mm travel forks that can take my 17 stone heft but finding a set for 26" wheels seems tricky nowadays.

Can anyone advise a decent pair of forks that fit the bill?

I bought a set of Fox forks around 2005 for about £300 but fork prices seem to have really shout up. Similar Fox ones seem well over double that.

Even a 2nd hand set would be good, I'm an ex bike mechanic and have a casual part time business at home repairing bikes so I could rebuild a pair if reqd.

Rockshox pike or revelation spring to mind. Assume you need a straight steerer and qr? Fox ate good forks but I believe they need more frequent servicing than rs equivalents.

I’ve got a low miles 2007 Fox fork spare.
Fully expect it to need a service but I’d not expect ridiculous money for it.
It’s 140mm from an Orange P7 originally.

Steerer is 195mm or thereabouts.

Go Marzocchi! Plush, tough, durable, low and easy maintenance, there’s ne better choice ;-)
Maybe a bit heavy though.

Magura forks are nice, rock shox lyric, revelation and pike as mentioned above are sound forks.
Fox forx can be picked up for good prices.

Some rockshox forks are U-turn, meaning you can physically adjust the chosen travel amount on the fly. Handy sometimes.

Marzocchi forks are good also, but as mentioned above heavy.
