I never had any, but the Answer Hyperends would be the news knees to of that style bar end.

Retro started wiiiide. I’ve got a set of mid 80s steel Nitto risers - c. 700 mm.

They are excellent as a lever for stubborn bbs, freewheels or hub locknuts.

Ergotec, a German brand, makes a few handlebars in 62cm and 66cm. I haven't seen them any wider in 25.4 diameter. They are cheap online, at least in Germany, 10-15 EUR for the steel versions.

These are my favourite wide, flat retro bars. Obviously you need a shim to go to 25.4 but they are superb

I found the name of the one I was talking about, "Riser Handlebar 30 / 25.4". Unfortunately as the name suggests it has a little bit of rise, and yes, it's on the heavy side, but it comes in 660mm and dirt cheap. Plenty of choice in German online shops, not sure in the UK.

2 years later,....

Honestly speaking iv tried these old 80+ cm Klunker bars (respectively magura Moto`s in 22,2)
... and what you expect - they are great with the right stem configuration scenario

edit... given that the headangle is also more relaxed like in the early/mid 80s

I run Surly 1x1 Torsion Bars, Nitto made, 25.4 clamp and come in Silver or Black, cromoly, quite a lot of sweep and 666mm uncut, worth seeking out a pair
