Hello, just got given this and can't find much info on it online so I thought I'd ask in the best place to find out about it. Looks like it might be an Elevation but I can't read the text on the frame. It is carbon. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I plan to restore it at least to ridable condition.

That’s the really nice one, good find. I think there’s a miyata catalogue here.

Edit... forgot this part;

It’s a “valley runner carbon”

That's exactly what it is. Makes sense that it's a Scandinavian only model, I'm in Sweden. My initial thoughts were that it said "val" on the top tube but when I couldn't find a carbon one that it must be the "vat" in elevation. Thanks so much for the detective work Scvintage.
Now I'd better start hunting for parts. I've already got a IG chain to put on it.

That looks great. I see that's a Kota one too. Was 91 the year they merged?

Koga-Miyata is not a merger. Koga is a separate company that bought the frames from Miyata. Since 1974 >> http://www.retrobike.co.uk/wiki/Koga-Miyata

Miyata started as manufacturer of slots for rivels and built its first bicycle frame in 1890. For their 100th anniversay they issued a limited edition frame similar to yours but with gold plating for the lugs: the Miyata Century >> http://www.retrobike.co.uk/wiki/Miyata_Century
