Pace RC36 Pro Class...silly question

Ok so I have as set of these and want to have my V Brakes mounted behind the forks. Currently the mounts are orientated for front mounting.

I can only find a user manual for RC36's and in that it simply states 'remove the cap bolt on the brake clamp and slide it off the leg and reposition on the other leg'. Well mine has two cap bolts but for the life of me I cant see how the brake clamp simply slides off the leg.....how do you get it over the wheel hub mounting points (not sure what they are called). Loathed to bend the clamp and force it cause I am sure I will bugger it some how.....

So whats the trick....(apologise if this blindingly obvious)

Rotating it isn't the answer as the mounting point is further from the wheel....

I think the only way is to gently prise it open so it goes over the width of the drop out.
