Not sure where to post this as I'm new on here. Can I pick your brains guys: Can the freehub on Spin tri spoke wheels be removed and replaced? Say for a dedicated 9speed freehub? As mine is for 8speed,but I'm having problems fitting all 8cogs on it,so being forced to rim 7speed temporarily. Is there locking rings with more depth so they go into the cassette deeper?

My knowledge with regards cassettes and freehubs is limited. So excuse my ignorance guys.

Any help and feedback is much appreciated.

As far as I know it can be removed, in fact the whole hub can be. Surprised you can't fit a 9 speed on yours, all the sets I've had took a 9 speed cassette without a problem.perhaps there is a spacer fitted on yours that can be removed?

Post a pic, I'll compare it with mine that takes 9sp.

My spin rear freebody takes 8-9 speed cassettes
I use a spacer for 7 speed so as the other poster said ,
Check to see if a spacer is installed

Weird... literally just walked in from the workshop after fitting a 9sp XTR M953 to a Spin wheel....

Thanks alot. I'll check mine too. Time to dig out the digital calipers

After lots of checking all advice said, found a spacer stuck to the back of the middle cog!

Can't believe I didn't see it.

Thanks for all the advice guys, 9speed Sram gold cassette now fitted on my Spins, courtesy of Ishaw... Finally good to ride again....
