Bought a Kona Hahanna....wasn't the plan for today!

Old School Hero
I have to just acquired a Kona Hahanna which wasn't on the list of things to do today. Now to work out how original it is / isn't and whether I keep it or sell it. Selling would be an option as it helps towards the pennies for a GT Zaskar LE which would be my dream bike. Keeping appeals as it's something else to ride. I am sure I am not the only one with this dilemma. I think it's a 1996 from its' colour, but I haven't really a clue. I guess this afternoon will be spent doing some research. Anyway as pictures are better at describing things, here they are. Why are there no brake blocks......?

Air brakes! :)

Its a '95 and no, not original spec, a few upgraded parts, though the forks look like they could do with a service.

The forks just sag. Time to hunt out those articles on what to do to service them. Also the 8 speed rear cassette might be a slight hint that it's not too original.
It had mudguards and rear carrier on it with the saddle right down when I got it. I don't think the saddle had been moved in years. I can see this becoming a fun hack!

Tell us more about how you came by it, sounds intriguing! I wish bikes would find me as easily.
I was trolling through the local face book ads when I saw "A Bike For Sale", great description! Picture wasn't much better but it was a 5 minute drive away and I was going that way anyway. So message them, that was even less help "It's brown and a kids bike". So went to have a look as in the picture if you squinted, stood back, had a few beers and used your imagination it could be a Kona.
Anyway turns out they were clearing out dads shed as he was "dead", I don't think they were close. Realised it was wasn't too original but the tyres and wheels were OK and it was a 16 inch Kona Hahanna, so if all else failed I had something.
Long story cut short it's now being broken for spares, somebody very badly hacksawed an inch off the seat tube so the frame is a bit butchered, some muppets out there!
I've stripped the Judy XC forks today so will get them sorted, the front mech has been sold already, and the other bits will be up for grabs as I sort out prices.
If anybody needs anything in particular just shout, I'm always up for a quick deal.

There's a Rock Shox sticker on the frame? That's unusual and I don't think original.
Correct RockShox Judy XC and they were shot! Stripped them today so a new stack should sort that.
XT quick fire shifters, V brakes, etc etc all none original. Pedals were nice, and the bearings on my other bike's pedals were getting growly, so a quick switch was made.
Easton bars, in my youth they were a trendy bit of kit if I remember correctly. So I'll probably sell them on if they are worth anything.
All funds go in the kitty for.........another bike.
