1991 was when zolatone arrived, and similar for 1992, so I'd say 1990 at the latest, none of the other names had mountain AFAIK

What is zolatone?

zolatone was a matt grey type distinctive finish pretty unique to Marin in early 1990s, see the marin catalogues in the archive section

That is a beauty! Interesting that they used the PM for team riders rather than the Team Marin?

Zoloatone was 90/91. 90 light grey with white decals, 91 dark grey with fork/stem coloured decals.

That's just like mine. *Big sniff*....... Damn junkies......
So a PM but non special team paint. To be, honest I don't think I've see it with the black forks. Nor that long a stem. But it is a big frame.
And quite the faded paint.
Thanks for posting that. Such a great, and missed bike. I had a set of Syncros forks and a longer Ritchey stem.
That was the best down hiller. So stable and steady.Had a set of Scott AT 4's on it too. They were fun to feed through the Ritchey.... Probably a good thing they were shimmed and not a bulge bar!
Damn I loved that bike.
