Alivio is what sometimes got put on bicycles as a starter groupset so you could upgrade

853 frame with full alivio in all its glory

so much better than 200GS, just not a legendary

200GS is legendary, it had thumbshifters like on proper bikes :wink:

It's too bad it never got many views or entries. There were a lot of great and unique bikes built in that era, plus drivetrains were still M952.

I don't think many people even think to look in the 1998+ forum which is a shame.
