Can anyone identify this bike?

This had been left out locally for the scrap man so I rescued it to use as a hack bike. Low end but I'd like to know what it is. Looks like it says 'Hota Hot Rock' under the paint but the last letter of the first word (Hota?) is hard to make out.
Shimano 100GS group, Biopace cranks so late 80's at a guess. Any ideas?

Al Carter Hot Rock. I think the sticker you can see is just 'hot rock' superimposed on itself.

Low end, not particularly desirable.

I think lgf is the forums resident Al Carter expert. I vaguely recall a long thread about them a while back.
