Lots of cool bikes, but this is off the Scale for me...!

From the meticulous rebuild to the rarity of the bike this is on a whole different level of retro vintage love.

Not my Darjeeling darling......

'97 Giant MCM D990 carbon front end frame, handles the rough stuff well :)

Rescued from Gumtree for a princely sum, it had been mutilated with a 4kg Zoom suspension fork, colossally high rise bars and a bolt on steel wheelset fit for a £80 supermarket tank before I put all that right.

Fairly late for 'retro' standards but I don't see many about, this is pretty alien to the rest of my collection but my god it handles well and for '97 and is a good example of how far bikes had come by that time...

It is very different, I guess its because it looks fairly modern with the sloping top tube, the chunky carbon etc etc. Sadly I was too impatient to do a build thread... essentially I had the forks spare in the workshop, saw the bike with VERY wrong forks on it on Gumtree and thought I need to buy the bike to give it its forks... that's the mad mad way I often think and why I have such a large collection lol...
