Re:

Same here. I have one myself. It's mint but been boxed for years. This may inspire me to modernise the build if I ever get round to it.

Re: modernizing...

My hope was to go retro with the rebuild. Unfortunately, very little was salvageable as it had been in a basement that flooded with salt water years ago during a hurricane. At that point, modernizing was my best option and now I’m glad. Really happy with how it came out. And the ride is phenomenal. I’m not a weight watcher but the fact that it comes in at just over 24 pounds is a bonus.

Re:

What you need to finish it off is a rear disc mount. They are available on here. I was going to build mine up using amp forks and discs, but sold the brakes (and wheels).

Re:

Love it! although I might be somewhat biased in my appreciation of all things Litespeed....now considering a 1 x upgrade to mine!

I'm a year late but I am building this bike and I need numbers. Hopefully you sages can help an ole Tennessee boy out. I bought a 1996 new and sold it in 2000. Found a frame (same year) on Ebay and it's getting an update, although I don't know the wheel particulars I can run (axle numbers, hubs, wheels I can source on eBay) and what mods I'll have to do to the drivetrain. I'm looking at the SRAM Eagle NX. For forks, I'm thinking the Manitou Markhor 26 is good. I'd like to run a disc up front and keep the v brakes in the back. Any help is greatly appreciated.
