Bottom Bracket width on 90'ies MTB (Kona)

Hi!
I want to put a square taper LX triple crankset on my '98 Fire Mountain.
It currently has an XT with an octalink BB.
The shop I'm looking at has widths from 110mm to 127,5mm which i guess is a pretty big span.
Does anyone know if widths varied a lot on 90'ies MTBs or was there a specific width that was the norm?
I'm running with a front derailleur, so I would think a difference of 17,5 mm total could matter.
Thanks,
Jess

You'll need the correct length bb for both the frame (68 or 73mm shell) and axle length for the crankset. Which LX crankset was it? Someone here will know which one you'll need.

It's an FC-M569
