Hi guys,

I can see how a split crown race might be easier to install. As I need a lower crown race though, do you suggest to go for a full one?

Thanks

They are easier to install and remove. Only for cartridge style headsets, not older loose / caged bearing.

You need one to match your headset though. If it is cartridge and not split you can cut it.

All the crown races I find on eBay seem to be for sealed cartridge bearings.
Is there some specific keyword to look for crown race compatible with 1-1/8 steerer with loose bearings?

you need the exact one that matches your headset, they're not universal.

Ah!
Then maybe the smartest move is to remove it from the old fork and install it onto the new one.
