stumpjumper help

Dirt Disciple
Hi,
I want to get this frame up and running, and could do with some help identifying the model, is it a stumpjumper?
It's metallic green and the serial number begins with 90, so I believe it's a 1991 model?
Hopefully someone can help me!

Re:

Yeah, I've searched the archives and I can't find it anywhere. I'm pretty certain it's the original colour and decals.

Re:

I've taken some more photos, the fork has TANGE 90K
MADE IN JAPAN
CR-MO
stamped on it, if that also helps. Like I said before I have traveled the archives and not been able to come up with anything.
The only thing I found was on the MOMBAT website, of a 1991 S works steel stumpjumer. But there are differences with the decals. I don't know if that has any bearing on identifying the frame.

Are you sure its a Stumpjumper? :?:

Possibly a '91 Rockhopper Comp - Page 10 of the '91 brochure looks very similar...

Hi, thanks. I've had another look and the specifications at the back of that brochure state the colour as turquoise, magenta.

Re:

OK, I just contacted the person who sold me the frame and forks.
Apparently, the previous owner to them repainted and fitted new decals, then sold it on stating it was a stumpjumper. There are no obvious signs of an original colour, even overspray in the steered tube matches! Would I be right in saying that Rockhopper would look pretty similar? Angles and tube sizes etc.

The Rockhopper has rack mounts on the seattubes, this doesn't.

From memory either the Stumpjumper or the S-Works had no rack mounts.
Look through the catalogs and check all the tube lengths and angles.
It could be the same frame as the Rockhopper (without the rack mounts) as they used previous years frames as lower frames in future years. or the rack mounts could have been removed when it was painted.

Re: angles checked.

Hi, I've checked the angles and tube lengths, etc. They all seem to be correct.
I noticed that the point that the brakes attach to the forks is cylindrical rather than a box that I've spotted on the catalogues. They are box sections at the rear.
Any ideas?
