This is an awesome idea! Personally I think this catches one of the main ideas behind retrobiking, take something crappy and turn it into a gem (even though back then it would have been 'crap'). This kind of widens the competition, because there's no need to battle each month against 4-digit budget (and awesome) Merlins/GTs/Kleins etc. ;)

Could it be possible that this would become a continuous tradition let's say every second/third/fourth month? Because I have a 'few' beautiful budget projects brewing in the garage and I'll miss this December deadline! :)

my favourite already. And this is why: when I bought my Scott (see above) my younger brother got himself a bike too. ;-)
