Marzocchi xc 700 insights required

Hi just picked up a pair of Marzocchi XC 700 forks 1995
they arrived with a pressed fitted steerer tube sadly to short to use
What i would like to know is are these the original crown steerer for year
as most others have removable steerers
And lastly if i was to sauce a crown with option to change steerer
would the RST steerer tubes fit Marzocchi crown

Original crown should be bolt on steerer, RST tubes will fit. Before buying anything else for these forks, pull them apart & check the inside of the stanctions for corrosion.

Good call
I'm planning on a strip down and general nose inside..
I'm sure their be some surprises , like no oil and spring kit.
good news with the RST tubes , need crown now..

Mine have an RST (steel) steerer fitted, You will need to very slightly reduce the diameter to make it fit, this can be done with wet & dry, although I did mine on the lathe (removed 2/10 mm diametrically)
 
heating the crown and pressing out the steerer is OK and refitting another Marzocchi press fit steerer is the same process, easy done.
