Re:

If they are a new seller Ebay will withhold finds for 15 (ish) days to make sure they aren't scamming people and then will disburse funds when the sale is complete & customer satisfied.

The seller is new, has 0 feedback.

Re: Guess the Kona... [update: bought & collected]

I picked it up! It existed!
And It’s a gem :)
Will post pics tomorrow as it’s in the boot of my car while I’m away with work....

Full spec tomorrow but...XTR mechs, King Headset, hope Seatclamp, avid levers and brakes, deore thumbies - no seat or post :/

All for £85 and a 6 hour round trip!

Re: Guess the Kona... [update: bought & collected]

So it’s a bit of a basket case... nasty cables, rear tyre rubs, front shifter is like lead, headset play, pedals have no bearings, too many routing guides and pulleys... don’t like the bars...

But it’s all mine :)

Sorted a few bits and bobs out at the weekend....
re-set up the brakes
fitted a new seatpost and seat (not the nicest) and refitted and cleaned the hope seat clamp.
Put some DMR pedals on
Removed the stem ready to replace bars and stem... dont have a stem yet though....
Will add pics when the stem is on.

Still to do:
Replace rear tyre as it rubs (@2.35 width)
Sort out the shifters/cables as they’re v stiff (poss replace)
Replace top pull XTR derailleur with bottom pull XT
Replace hubs/wheels due to no make/weight

It's a nice colour. Some decent parts hanging off it, I hope you enjoy your mild resto on it.

Yeah I’m going to sell most of them and repurpose one, as they’re not my style. I’m not a BMXer :)
I won’t be going back to factory though as the parts are pricey and scarce, plus it only has the frame and forks left!

Thanks, very good of you :)
- I believe that’s a Univega and might help someone rebuilding their own?
I also think it’s 225g which is a bit heavy for my plans - sorry to sound picky :)

A bit more tinkering and cleaning today... trying to improve the shift and indexing
Headset tightened and brakes set up correctly with new Clarke’s front pads
Binned off the old wheels, the Joytech hubs were bent... cassette is garbage and rocks.... rear tyre is ok (Kenda), front garbage

Getting there... slowly

Cranks are gorgeous, FSA middle ring and Sugino big.. Hollowtech cranks I’ve been told.
