Bit of a long shot, but I’ll ask away. I need to replace a set of oil seals in a pair of Marzocchi Bomber Z2’s. Has anyone tried fitting a set of motorbike fork oil seals or generic oil seals of the same dimensions to mountain bike suspension forks? They’re significantly cheaper and the same size, and designed to do the same job...got to be worth a try?

Certainly worth a try.
I've replaced them but haven't used the forks yet. But the seals fit well.

That’s great. I thought someone would have tried it before me. Thanks for the reply.

Do you know what Marz seal number you need? I might have a new pair.

I rebuilt my Z2 bomber with enduro seals a couple years ago. They weren't cheap but it works. I love the fork so it was worth it.

Just bought some endure seals recently but not had chance to fit.

I did wonder whether motorbike seals would fit but couldn't find any in 30mm width anyway, so "shelled out" for the Enduro items.

Thanks Old Rocky Mountains. I’ve ordered some motorcycle seals. If they’re no good then I’ll give you a shout.

I looked at the Enduro seals, but think they are all Blue in colour?

I’ll give these motor cycle ones a try and report back. The size is 30mm ID, 40mm OD and 8/9mm in depth.

My seals are blue but I reused the original black boots over the top of them.
