OK - so this is only really 'early' in the sense that any later it would have been a garish 40lb monstrosity, but:

Freshly built and surprisingly light for a Tufftrax at a shade over 24lbs! Worth it for the powder coat alone..

Hi tjs,

Your Tufftrax looks lovely mate! Great build up there. I followed your link to the last thread. I love seeing the before and after pics. The tyres look brilliant, Charge Splashbacks right? How do they ride on tarmac and gravel type use? I went for some Halo H-Blocks on mine. I was after some new tanwalls that look retro but ride well. I'm over using old tyres on bikes I'm going to use properly. Going to google this tyre now.

Thanks, I thought it went under the radar a bit..

I've spent loads of time with it now & I really think these frames were gems - it's probably the same as the Protrax, and as someone else mentioned that was full Tange DB for 97. I have to say the Charge Splashbacks are more show than go, but they're good dirt tyres.

I'm picking up a 92 Tufftrax Elite this weekend too which is getting Deore DX - there will be a Shogun Prairie Breaker frame from the donor bike at a sillier price than your Saracens available shortly!

I might be culling the heard soon guys. These might be up for grabs soon if anyone is interested....

The black Eiger is already in parts in my studio in a box. Someone wanted to buy it without the wheels and pulled out after I'd stopped it and boxed it up for them. So without wheels for £30 plus postage. Paint work is pitted. I don't want to un pack it to take pics cos then I'll see how many bikes I really have!

The black traverse would be just the frameset, £30 plus postage. It's in good condition

Blue Eiger and trekker XT whole but prob without the H block tyres. I've got some Farmer johns or kendas for them. £75 Eiger, £150 trekker XT

The trekker with a rack might be the frameset or whole bike. I bought that for parts for the 88 kiliflyer frame I have but might shelve the project. £100 whole

I also have the 88 and 90 kiliflyer frames knocking around....

Going to Ebay them when I get round to it if I decide to part with them, it's so hard!

Trekker after a service, new (old) water bottle cage, rear axle so it's quick release with period XT skewer and the original RM20 rims with XT hubs back on. It rides great! A few scratches and I've only just noticed that theres a decal missing from the left hand top tube. Better condition than when i found it though!

I picked this 88 Trekker double U up the other day. Thought I'd use it for parts and likely will but it's pretty complete. I've put the saddle on my trekker XT already. Before I strip it and store the bits for a rainy day, anyone looking for one of these? Or need any of the bits? It has the XT U brake front and rear..... Thought I'd mention it before It disappears. The frame set would be up for grabs for sure £10 plus postage and it's yours...
