Early GT Pantera AL hard tail

Kevinski66

Dirt Disciple
Any body had one of these ? Bought it recently for £6 from my local auction, the frame is a perfect size for me as i am vertically challenged, any body know what wheels they originally came with? And also are the forks original because the GT Panteras on tinternet have rigid forks for this age??
Cheers

Re:

I had one of those, good bike but when rigid it was TOO rigid
Cant help you with spec but definitely keep suspension unless you want compacted spine and no fillings in your teeth

You have bagged yourself a true deal there! I love it and as said above I’d keep he forks on. GT aluminium frames are tough old things and very rigid.

I had a 95 ball burnished Pantera with RockShox Quadra 21R’s my Uncle in the US shipped over to me before they landed in the UK, I felt like the King on that bike ;)
Had fluoro Orange Magura’s with clear hosing and XRay shifters with blue grips.

Keep up the thread, great to see.

All good to hear, its a definite keeper although could be a while until its back to its glory days as i'm still finishing a Bianchi 940sf and trying to finish my Raleigh Panasonic team replica road bike so i think i will make it road worthy for now and see if it feels better than the Bianchi which is an inch bigger
