Very nice Paul, thanks. The Panaracer Fires set it off nicely.
There is something about those San Andreas which keep drawing me. Need to an early one. Prefer the stripped aluminium frames like yours.

Hi Folks

Used to be a member a couple of years back but lost my login details, back then I had a PACE RC 200 but now that has been sold because I simply couldn't commit to finishing the build...so straight in it's place has come a 1991 Explosif (the horrible purple one) but hope to do it some justice!

Hello everybody !

I've visited this forum sometimes and its great. But since getting myself this Alan adventure mtb carbonio frameset(early 1990's),i decided to join in.When i got the Alan it was equipped with mostly Shimano xt components and only headset+seatpost were Campy.I will rebuild the Alan with full Campagnolo mtb components
I have been into cycling and bikes since 1986.First road biking and later(1990) mtb cross country racing.

Greetings fellow Retrobiklings,

after years (maybe even a decade?) of lurking I´ve finally come forward and created an account on this excellent forum.
My name´s Felix, I´m from Germany and I´m into MTBs since 1988. Since then I never owned anything other than MTBs, I use them for everything from commuting to balls to the wall downhill, although I must admit I´m not much of a racer. I never sold a bike I´ve bought and only recently (2014) bought my first bike with suspension (SC Superlight). All others are older than ´93

Last summer I went on a bit of a spending spree and bought 3 retros in 3 weeks , thus more regularly frequenting this very site. Here´s one of them, should get some threads up for the others.
