I've seen CK/WTB mint headset for $950, and a set of Paul fd/rd for €1200,- Both were sold quite fast...

All black XT thumbies is pretty expensive, but not crazy. I guess the most expensive I've seen is a NOS XTR m900 with grafton perches. €500 or so, if I don't remember wrong

The IRD seat posts is more in the €150 bracket, 300 is a bit too much, I think.

Reproduction ones were selling on here for a lot more than that - I am presuming originals would be more than reproductions. Maybe that presumption is incorrect, but it's how I'd imagine things working!

BMX tyres don't count... ;)

Not my bag, but wasn't someone selling a set of Shimano Airlines on here fairly recently for about 1.5K...? No idea if they sold, but if so that would put them in the Pauls / WI / etc range...

26" BMX tires must count I'd say when they are 26" and were used back in the days on mtbs as well.

I'm going by the requirements of the OP - '85 would seem to late to me for those tyres... ;)

Period correct parts - 10 yr stretch - Anything from 1985-1995. As for looks, too early to tell. A lot of the priciest parts look pretty good :)

Snakebellys were still -85, and a NOS set of IRC X1s would be ridiculously expensive...

I would say grips would be Klein Instinct and bar ends maybe OnZa Ti or Mountain Goat Granola.
