I'd imagine you could probably use U's if you use the additional mounts as you could just fix them a little higher or lower? :?

I'd initially thought that, but I'm not sure you could given that Pace forks use a rocker rather than a more traditional cable hanger. I'm not sure if that would work with a U brake? Especially as it would end up being very close to the brake. You might have to be a bit creative at least.

I think U brake bosses are a different size / diameter to canti mounts, if I remember correctly.

I also agree with others to go with a set of RC35 forks.

Ok. Cheers. I've gone for it on your collective advice!
Bought a pair of RC36's - was looking for RC35's but figured the pair I've found have the 1" head tube and have just been serviced will hopefully be worth it. They look in good condition (see pics).

I also ordered v-brake adaptor. Bit pricey but I think they will look better than the usual mount brackets that wrap around the forks.

I'll wait until I've got them both fitted before deciding on brakes.
My two favourite things about the bike are the frame and the double u-brakes.
I'd like to find a way to keep them although I like the relatively clean look of magura HS33 rim brakes.

I'll send some more pics when I've got the forks and hopefully they are fine etc.
