OK, true, but it's a bit like watching from the sidelines while other libraries burn because we have a selection of books on our own shelves. Same with the poor response to helping with digitising the Kelly archive earlier this year.
There's so much transitory bullshit, speculation and misinformation out there, especially on Facebook groups and in Pinkbike/MTBR/GMBN/YouTube posts and comments that there is a greater need than ever for an authoritative reliable archive for factual historical resources, knowledge and expertise. This is something that just cannot be handled by social media.
Sadly, the RetroBike.co.uk presence in such social media arenas is so small/absent that many producers of this content and comment haven't even heard of us, let alone visited or used our resources. It is swiftly slipping down Google rankings as our non-forum content gets more stale lacking updates and backlinks, not to mention Photobucket screwing up so many threads.
