That looks fantastic. Wonders if anyone’s got one of those frames in a large. The misses is starting to notice the rust on her Trek, a 9900 would be a good basis for a rebuild .

Yes!!! I love it. It was a build very similar to this inspired me recently to start this 14" Kona Hot build for my own bike mad youngest. He's a long way off being big enough for it, but I can source decent parts as & when they crop up.

Love these cool retro kids builds :D Trying to avoid the urge to get too obsessed with matching ano on my 8yr old daughters next build but this thread is not helping !!!

Good idea on going retro to achieve more bike for the same money!

The frame, although small, looks like it has a very long top tube. Nice touch that the stem is super-short, but I hope your daughter is still not too stretched out.

might just be the photos make it look long, but it measures within 1 cm of the Islabike Creig bikes which was a nice accident (wasnt planned)
