My Norco urban ride build is waiting on wheels. That's for the fiance ... this is for me :)

I picked this off ebay. Trek 7900 Multitrack. Carbon tubes with aluminum lugs and rear tri Nice frame. Originally is was a high end sport hybrid. This will be a retro-ish drop bar commuter bike. Call it a cyclocross I guess. Should work well and be economical.

I was happy to find the head tube is 1 1/8" ... saved me a lot of trouble.

Next up. New thread-less HS and BB. It will have a new fork ... this fork is destined for the norco.

Ya ... Sorry. Got my numbers confused. Like I said above its a sport hybrid.

Tires arrived. NOS panaracer smoke 700c. Fluked a pair of those and a new rear wheel for peanuts.

I think the spacing is wrong on the wheel though at the hub. Seems too narrow. Not a biggie ... Wanted the tires mainly.

Online, it says its ok. 130mm (road hub) to 135mm (mtb hub) ... not the end of the world on a 135 mm frame. I just sized up the the rear tire with the smoke. It fits ... with about 5mm to spare nearest the crank. Looks good. but there is that 5mm of flex @ the hub I am forcing on the frame. Just looking for a hard no here if anyone has tried this and it has not worked out.

Made a little progress and made a goof.

The fork (manitou 700c), headset (CC S-, Handlebar (scott nos drop), and stem (likely will change) are on.

Still messing with the stack height. Gonna wait until I sort the crank issues before I finalize that. I goofed on the bottom bracked. Thats a 109.5. I underestimate, or just didn't think about, the width on the stays. My Ultegra 6500 crank wont fit, so I am either getting a wider BB, or putting the old square taper back on and going with race face forged.

Yup, thats a Spinergy wheel of death on the front. Not gonna use it for sure. The REV X is like new so its really good, but I will probably go with another new Alex 36H rim with a ringle bubba.

Syncros seatpost on the way and I will stick with the Flite saddle.

Tires on there are NOS smokes, which I'll try for giggles, but this is a commuter so it will have some new cyclocross rubber.

It will have new Tektro cyclocross brakes and I need to sort the rear hanger.
