Hi folks I heard that sidewalls on old tyres can be repaired. I have a couple of sets that are a bit dry and crusty. I've heard they can be repaired somehow. Question is how and is this only for show queens or can they be used as intended

Apparently painting on a layer of liquid latex (used in special effects make-up) to the sidewalls can give them some longevity. I bought a bottle but haven't gotten around to trying it myself. I have a feeling it will look a bit 'milky'. Its a winter project...

Thanks I might give that a whirl. It makes sense to coat it in laytex but how long it lasts is a different story.

Re:

I might try this on my Canis from Onza Tyres as they are already perishing and disintegrating around the beading only after 12 months on.
