Shimano Deore Chainset

Restoring an early 90s Raleigh. Its currently fitted with a Shimano Deore LX FC-M560 chainset. While its solid, the chainrings are past their best. Ideally, I was hoping to just replace the chainrings with newer options. However, this costs more than a new chainset and bottom bracket.

I've sourced a new Shimano Deore M590 complete with a Hollowtech OK bottom bracket for half the price of the replacement chainring.

My question is would there be any issues installing this as a replacement, with it being a 9 speed chainset and the original rear and front gear being 7 speed Shimano Deore XT RD-M737 and FD-M735 respectively?

Any other options open to me?

Re:

It will fit and you should be fine running 7 speed gearing. I'm sure more expert advice will be along around the best chain to use.

I'm surprised you can't get chainrings cheaper than a new chainsets though, either on here or via a retailer or online store.
