Kona Project Started Today - Help!

Re:

Hello! Need advice on a new headset for this project. The head tube is 1'1/8 and the project 2 fork is the threaded 1 inch.

Thanks in advance.

you need a normal 1" threaded headset.

The Hahanna and Fire mountain were 1" in 1993, all the other models were 1 & 1/8".

Eh? It is the original fork that came on the frame, right? You need to know the 'stack height', that is to say the total height of all the bearing cups, locknut etc. Subtract the length of fork steerer (including where the bearing race presses on) from the head tube length. Now compare that to the old headset - assuming you didn't bin it! More detail here: http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-hel ... -section-2 note the section about the 'lip' of the locknut and accounting for that in the calc of stack height.

Tange Levin are popular but until you know the stack height it is difficult to say what'll fit. The Tange ones have limited sealing, so a sealed bearing headset might be a good upgrade.
