Rocked up today from the US of Americaland.

So hoe quickly do you run to the teapot to make those temperatures accurate? Have you tested?

Unless it's a type I've not seen before, they would have been Bontrager Composite forks you saw which have a slightly tapered leg. Similar construction, although they are quite different when placed together.

How well does the "a bit more crumpet" feature work?
 
It's risky at best. If you have crumpet and she gives you a quick look but you want a bit more, it could all turn to toast and you'll be frozen out.
